THEY’D GET married!
29.08.26

useful information

the 29th of august is the last saturday of summer, meaning the weather is expected to be mild. The average TEMPERATURE around that time is 12 degrees, and even though we often have bright clear days, it’s DEFINITELY worth packing some jumpers and jackets.

keflavik airport is about a 40 minute drive from reykjavik. As taxis are expensive (ÂŁ150-200), we RECOMMEND booking the flybus coach from keflavik airport to the bsi terminal in down town reykjavik (ÂŁ18). Click here

easy jet flys into Keflavik airport and is normally the cheapest fair.

Disclaimer* currently they’re only flying on wednesday and monday (as august is too far in advance) but usually more flights become available closer to the time.

Icelandair and british airways are also an option but they’ll be more expensive.

When should I arrive?

Most guests have decided to arrive on either thursday 27th or friday 28th and fly back on the monday. some are even extending beyond the wedding to see more of iceland!

there are plenty of hotels and airBNB’s in reykjavik near where the ceremony and reception will take place. we recommend booking early. SEE ACCOMMODATION TAB HERE.

Do I need to rent a car?

as the wedding and ceremony are within walking distance from Reykjavik city CENTRE, a car isn’t necessary, however, if you want to see more of iceland we would recommend it.

if you do decide to rent a car, it’s worth noting that Parking in the city centre is slightly limited. get in touch if you want to know where the parking no fee zones are or find ACCOMMODATION with a parking space included.

the currency in iceland is króna which AVERAGES as 170 kr. to £1. Don’t be alarmed when you see prices in the thousands…

What about gifts?
